support local artists : no label, no problem

I attended the urban art & music fest at penang yesterday. There seems to be an air of change in the local independent music scene these days. Bands are getting more sophisticated and exploring different musical ground, and a large amount of Britpop and experimental influence is evident. No label? Unsigned artists? Credit to the underground local bands. Composing and performing songs without the shadow of a struggling record label hanging overhead leaves musicians free to express themselves instinctively from the soul.

It's easy to forget how many times music fans here have had to face countless false dawns when it comes to significant developments in local music. Enough said, we should do more to support local artist, then you maybe getting somewhere. So every time you hear local music, don't tune to other radio streams.

I’ve got myself an EP of the “Ocean of Fire”, a local band which emphasizes on instrumental ro (kfunk), azzy not so metal music. Go and support local music. They need us.

Speak through the heart.
